Four Year Program Overview
CECA 9
CECA 9 & CECA 10:
Through a prescribed curricular system of classes grounded in AVID in both Grade 9 and Grade 10, CECA students will undergo an intense college readiness program. Furthermore, the CECA curriculum in Grades 9 and 10 are influenced by the Enhanced LearningSeries of classes offered at American River College (ARC), as well as input from ARC Faculty and Administration.
1. CECA Math 1 or Math 2 (or based on last Math class of recommendation)
2. CECA Human Biology
3. CECA English 9
4. CECA Spanish 1 or 2
5. AVID 9

- CECA classes are taught by CECA trained teachers and are in cohorts of CECA students.
CECA 10

- CECA classes are taught by CECA trained teachers and are in cohorts of CECA students
- PE 10 is offered as a Zero Period. Class size is limited
Qualified CECA 10 students will fulfill the following three requirements:
1. GPA of 2.7 or higher
2. Successful completion of the writing and reading classes at ARC
3. Maturity/Good Character
CECA 11
Grade 11: California Early College Academy (CECA) is a college readiness program that affords students the opportunity to graduate their senior year with upwards to a full year of transferable college credit through American River College (ARC). CECA students will be prepared in Grades 9 and 10 to enroll in college level classes beginning as early as Grade 11. CECA students will have the opportunity to enroll in ARC based on competency, counseling, and appropriate placement centered on student’s college readiness. CECA students are allowed a maximum of two (2) college classes per semester while concurrently enrolled in high school.
CECA 11 Schedule of Classes:
1. Math I, Trigonometry or AP Calculus
2. CECA Physics or Chemistry
3. AP English 11 or ARC English
4. CECA Spanish 3 or AP Spanish
5. AP U.S. History or ARC U.S. History
6. AVID 11
Notes:
- Flexibility for Band students (contact CECA Counselor for details).
- CECA classes are taught by CECA trained teachers and are in cohorts of CECA students.
- CECA students who pass the ARC Placement Test will begin taking ARC classes.
- Additional ARC classes are made available to CECA students based on ARC Placement Test results and prerequisites being met.
The ARC Counselor assigned to CECA will advise CECA students on ARC course options, and form an Education Plan for CECA students enrolled at ARC. - Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA at ARC, and receive satisfactory grades in ARC courses (C or better), in order to maintain access to ARC.

- ENGWR 300 (3 Semester Credits)
- HIST 310 (3 Semester Credits)
- ANTH 300 (3 Semester Credits)

CECA 12
Grade 12:
