California Early College Academy (CECA)
California Early College Academy (CECA) is a rewarding and rigorous program at Inderkum High School based on the AVID model that aims to prepare students to be college and career ready. The CECA program allows students the opportunity to be enrolled in American River College classes during high school, which allows for high school and college credits to be earned simultaneously.
CECA targets students in the “academic middle” who have good attendance and positive behavior. First priority will be given to the students who reside in NUSD boundaries who meet at least two of the following three criteria:
- Individuals who would be a first generation college graduate
- Individuals who are economically disadvantaged
- Individuals from student groups underrepresented in higher education
In addition, students should have a targeted Middle School GPA between 2.5 – 3.5, and submit two letters of recommendation from core academic subject teachers (submitted with complete application) in order to be considered for the CECA Program.
While first priority will be given to students who meet the criteria listed above, there is no one measure that will eliminate a candidate, nor is there one measure that will ensure admission into the program. The importance and emphasis is to provide the appropriate placement within the Inderkum High School curriculum and its multitude of programs and resources.
*Notifications of acceptance into the CECA Program will be sent out at the end of March 2025
The application for the 2025-2026 school year will open on Friday, November 15th, and close on January 31st at 11:59 pm. If you have any questions, please contact Kathleen Carley at kcarley@natomasunified.org.
